THE STEREO MCs

Stereo MCs are an English alternative/electronica/hip-hop/acid jazz group which formed in 1985. In 1990, "Elevate My Mind" was the first British hip hop single to reach the U.S. R&B chart. At the same time they supported Happy Mondays at the U.S. The have done remixes for the likes of U2, PM Dawn, Queen Latifah, Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, Monie Love and Electronic. They are still highly sought after producers, with most of their remixes being done under the name Ultimatum. Stereo MCS are one of the few hip hop outfits to play rock music festivals. In 1992 they made their breakthrough with '' Connected'', a UK Albums Chart No.2, which spawned the smashes "Connected", "Step It Up", "Creation" and "Ground Level", and won them BRITISH Awards for Best Group and Best Album! They have also remixes for Madonna ("Frozen"), and the Jungle Brothers ("Jungle Brother") in 1998.Their most recent album, Double Bubble, was released in July, 2008.

BABIS STOKAS

Babis Stokas (Μπάμπης Στόκας) is the ex-singer and foundamental member of the legendary Greek band ''ΠΥΞ ΛΑΞ'' (Pyx Lax). His name is fully connected with some of the biggest Greek hits ever, like ''poula me'' as well as some of the biggest live performances all around Greece (even U.K). He has worked on many projects with many Greek musicians such as Giorgos Ntalaras, Panos Katsimixas, Lavredis Maxairitsas and others. In 2001 his first solo album (''Πουλία της νύχτας'') was released. In 2006 he appeared live in Lykavitos (Athens) with his new band that consisted of musicians from Tripes, Pix Lax and Ksilina Spathia (''Σχεδιο Γ''). It was an unforgetable live performance with so many friends and musicians on stage like Stamatis Kraounakis, Ypogeia Revmata, Kitrina Podilata even Pyx Lax! Babis keeps making solo albums until today.

PAVLOS PAVLIDIS

Pavlos Pavlidis (Παύλος Παυλίδης) is the ex-singer of one of the biggest greek rock bands ''Ξύλινα σπαθιά'' (Ksilina spathia). In 1993 their album ''Ksessaloniki'' smash down the Greek rock music industry until that time. Songs like ''Liomeno pagoto'' and ''O vassilias tis skonis'' are until today some of the best greek rock songs ever. His first band however to play with was another famous band, ''Mora sti fotia''. In 1998 ''Ksilina Spathia'' supported Rolling Stones in Athens, a huge moment in the band's history before their members choosed different musical roads. In 2004 his first solo album ''Αφού λοιπόν ξαχάστηκα'' is out and Pavlidis combines his rock attitude with new experimental influences such as jazz and atmospheric ballads elements . Pavlos has worked with many big Greek artists and he is still producing solo and live albums until today.

63HIGH

63High were formed back in 1997. Obviously influenced by the Jamaican reggae scene and British ska movement, as well as the hardcore punkrockDuring the recent 4 years they have appeared live in over 120 occasions, in venues ranging from houses, schools, campingsites, parks and clubs to festivals (mainly leftist, anti-rascist, antifascist) or even extreme sports showcases. Furthermore they have shared the stage with almost every important band of the genre that has visited Greece over the latest decade. To name but a few: Sex Pistols, Ska-P, Los De Abajo, Toasters, Meteors, Jaya The Cat, No Fun At All, Aggrolites, Oi Polloi, Leftover Crack, Wilhelm Scream, Skin of Tears and many many more. They have a growing loyal audience in neighbouring countries and especially Bulgaria where they have performed in 4 festivals and a few club shows so far. Being characterized as one of the most exciting Greek bands to watch live, in their 12-year long course, they have put out 2 semi-official demos, a 7" split EP (vinyl) and the recent first official album, entitled Think Before Unzippin', distributed by Playfalse Records

FOTONOVELA

Fotonovela consists of two of the most active persons of the modern greek electronic music: Nick from the famous Greek band 'Mikro' and George who has worked with the well-known female band 'Marsheaux'. In 2008 they released their first album under the label of 'undo records'.

Clairaudio is a local band from Ikaria island (next to Samos). They were formed in 2005 and their music is influenced by many american and UK alternative bands such as placebo, madrugada, radiohead, archive etc.

VALKYRIES

'Valkyries' is a young 5-members band from Samos with experimental progressive melodic rock sound. They were formed in 2004. They have already given lots of concerts around the island participating in many music events and festivals. They participated in the Greek schoolwave festival in 2006 (they were chosen out of 180 schoolbands all over Greece). They are influenced by 70's 'n' 80's classic and prog/art rock and younger alternative bands. The future belongs to them...

2009 Three golden brown nights to remember.

The 6th Ireon Music Festival 2009 is over. We had 3 big nights. We had some amazing bands and a wonderful huge crowd. This was one of the most successful festivals in the Aegean ever! Almost 7000 people were there during these three days. On Friday 7 August, Imiskoumbria and Nigma showed to everybody that Greek hip hop and RnB is more alive than ever. Nigma prepared people for what it was about to come with their beautiful new songs (like Spasto). Imiskoumbria appeared on the stage and some of their songs like 'Greek Lover' and 'Brazil-Imiz 1-0' drove the crowd crazy. Dj Ilito and Dj Pritanis were also fantastic. On Saturday 8 of August, Valkyries opened the night with their melancholic, atmospheric rock sound. People liked them and especially their domestic fans. We are proud that this young band comes from Samos Island. A crowd as big as 2300 people was waiting for the big name to come out. Locomondo appeared on stage. Combining their reggae sound together with their traditional Greek elements, Markos and his company, is always a beauty to watch them live! Songs like 'Pino bafous kai paizo pro' make the crowd sing every single lyric! It was a great and long-awaited performance. Samos people again showed how much they like them. The big day eventually came.

Sunday 9 of August. It was THE STRANGLERS day. But first it was there another great band to warm up the 3000 (at least) crowd. Cyanna were amazing. Their first time in Ireon Music Festival and most of the crowd already knew their hits. 'Shine' and 'Like fire' were played perfectly. A band that has definitely a lot to offer . Not accidentally the best new alternative Greek band this year! At about 23:00 THE STRANGLERS appeared on stage. The Biggest group ever played in the festival has started its engines. The fans were mad! They were historical moments that every lucky person who was there will never forget! 'Always the sun', 'Golden Brown', 'Nice n Sleazy', 'Peaches', 'Spectrum of love' and so many of their legendary songs were sung loudly by the crowd. After playing two encores, with the crowd asking for more, they ended up their tremendous performance with the old-time classic song, 'No more Heroes'. Panic is not the right word to describe the moments followed. It was Ireon's most fantastic night with JJ, Buz and Dave dominating the stage. All the people who worked for this festival made their best. The crowd was excellent all these 3 days and every band offered its best!

THE STRANGLERS

The world famous English rock group was formed on 11 September 1974 in Guildford, Surrey. Scoring a string of UK top ten hits, including "Golden Brown", "No More Heroes" and "Peaches" and UK top forty hits spanning four decades, the Stranglers originally built a following alongside the mid-'70s pub rock scene.
Their aggressive, no-compromise attitude made them one of the instigators of the developing UK punk rock scene, although their idiosyncratic approach rarely followed any single musical genre with the group going on to explore a variety of musical styles, including punk rock, gothic rock, and new wave through to the pop of some of their '80s output.

IMISKOUMBRIA

Imiskoumbria is the best-selling hip-hop group in Greece. The group is composed by: Dimitris Mentzelos- MC Mithridatis- MC and Pritanis- DJ. Their songs are satirical and based in everyday life situations. Most of their albums released until today went GOLD and PLATINUM. Imiskoumbria have also been awarded three (3) times with the award of Best Group in Greece by the Greek Music Awards. Not only they write, produce and create their one albums, they also discover, produce and promote new artists in hip-hop music. The group also has an exclusive contract with NIKE, the number one athletic company in the world, since 2000.

CYANNA

Cyanna (see-ana) are already a famous alternative rock band from Greece with full of musical potential for the years to follow. Cyanna's second long-player "Just A Crash" (Sony Music) was released in 2008. Songs like "Done Be", "Shine" and "TV Nation" are already amongst radio and TV favourites ("Shine" has remained on MAD TV top charts for more than 3 months), while thanks to "Just A Crash" the band was nominated in the Greek Act category of the MTV European Awards of 2008.
They are also an active live band putting up high energy shows, like the Hurricane Festival in Germany and the St. Gallen Open Air Festival in Switzerland, as well as winning the first Coca-Cola Soundwave competition as the best Greek band.

LOCOMONDO

Locomondo is a unique seven member band based in Athens, Greece. Their music can be tagged as reggae or ska. With millions fans all over the world It is the first band in Greece which fused the Caribbean sound together with Greek musical elements. Since 2004, they have released 4 albums and have toured extensively in Greece, Germany and the Netherlands with great success. During the course of these four years, they have shared the stage with bands such as Manu Chao, Ojos de Brujo, the Wailers,and Aswad among others. Locomondo had huge success in summer 2005 with their cover of the traditional rembetiko song "Frangosyriani" and in summer 2007 with their parody of student life - “Πίνω μπάφους και παίζω Pro”.

NIGMA

Nigma (means star in the Egyptian language) belong to the hip-hop/rnb/reggaeton music scene. The group consists of 3 members: dj MC ILITO, mc Sir Palou, and live synth by S.Metaxa. Although the group was formed in September 2007, its members have dominated the music scene since 1993 with certain activities such as djs as well as radio and music producers. They have also participated in lots of great events all over Greece and England. In February 2009, their first official album was released 'Ηρθε η σειρά μας' and is already a huge success in the Greek music charts.

MARSHEAUX			MARSHEAUX are a female electro pop duo from Thessaloniki (Greece). The two girls moved in Athens on 2000 and on 2003 they made MARSHEAUX in order to express their love for the electropop of the 80's and the sounds of synthesizers and drum machines. 	DIMITRIS KORGIALAS with guest participation of Evridiki			He's the most famous greek singer of electro pop rock. He was the winner of 2 MAD TV Awards in 2004 (best rock song and best duo). VEGASTAR			Vegastar is a French alternative new wave band which formed in 2003. Its members comprise mostly from former members of the french group called human beat box. Pop festival 2007: Rock, Electropop, Reggae
The 4th rock festival of Ireon 2007! It has been a bigger success even than in the previous year, with more than 8000 people visiting Ireon during this 3 days music event. People were dancing and had a great time. The main act Aswad (London) played their first show in Greece and loved Samos, Dionis Kalafatis & Olga Venetsianou were a perfect duo and the electropop sensation Mirko was smashing. The sound samples from the 80s and 90s were great work!!
During the concert we where LIVE transmitting on Samos FM (97,7Mhz) so more then 100.000 people on the Aegean islands could enjoy the music LIVE, and of course we had a life stream on the internet provided by Samos FM Check out some pictures >>

Rock festival 2006 BIG succes

After 3 years of organizing this rock festival, this third Rock festival in Ireon was a big hit, over 5000 visitors enjoyed our music festival from the 11until the 13 of August, Ireon was HOT and rocking! Three days free music event with local (Fat Mountain, Pheaton, Valkyries) and national (No Name, Domenica, Locomondo, Ble) bands. During the concert we where LIVE transmitting on Samos FM (97,7Mhz) so 130.000 people on the Aegean islands could enjoy the music LIVE, and of course we had a life stream on the internet!
